2017 17U Quad City Storm Baseball Highlights

In 2017 the Quad City Storm baseball team finished the season 16-3.  The team played in four tournaments with three in Michigan and one in Omaha, Nebraska during the college baseball world series.

The team started off their season playing at Grand Valley State University.  The Storm lost in the finals of the tournament.  What a great way to start off the season.

The Storm traveled to Omaha, Nebraska the last week in June to play in the Slumpbuster Tournament while also getting to watch both games of the College World Series with Florida winning over LSU in two games.  During the Slumpbuster the Storm finished 1-2 losing close games to teams who travel the country strictly as college showcase teams.  It was in Omaha that the team really came together.

July 8th and 9th the Storm traveled to Muskegon Catholic Central High School for their third tournament of the year.  The boys battled back in the semi-final game after being down by several runs for a comeback win.  In the championship game vs. Lowell the boys once again came from behind to win the tournament.

The Storms final tournament of the 2017 season was their own hosted in Big Rapids.  The team fought for three days and came back to win the championship game beating a team who just a day earlier had crushed the Storm via mercy rule.

The 2017 season was a great while building off the past.  What a fantastic group of young men, coaches, parents, and families.
